Today we're focusing on breathing. Breathing is an important part of mindfulness and you may have seen our previous posts ask you to focus on breathing whilst walking, cooking, exercising and eating amongst other things. The breath is a wonderful natural phenomenon. It keeps our complex bodies ticking and is vital to each and every one of us. Something we all share.
Focusing on the breath can help you feel grounded and in the moment, an essential part of mindfulness. When you find your mind wondering, focusing on troubles of the past or worries of the future, take a moment and breathe. Breathe in slowly through your nose and feel your body inhale the fresh and clean air. Breathe in peace and bliss and feel the air enter your lungs. Then breathe out slowly, breathing out and negativity, fear or pain you may be feeling. Repeat.
